Kano Pillars have ended the suspension of Coach Ahmed Garba 'Yaro Yaro' and reassigned him to lead the club's youth development programme, Completesports.com reports.
The former Nigeria international confirmed the development on Sunday evening, revealing that he will begin work with the Pillars Junior Team on Monday, February 2, 2026.
'Yaro Yaro' had been out of action for three months following his suspension alongside then Technical Adviser Evans Ogenyi. The club's management took that decision after a difficult start to the 2025/2026 season, when Pillars managed only two wins, two draws and four defeats in the opening eight matches — a record deemed unacceptable by the leadership.
The reassignment means Ahmed Garba will take over from Coach Garzali Muhammad, who was recently moved up to the senior team as assistant coach after the earlier suspensions.
"Yes, I've been recalled by the management of Pillars," Ahmed Garba told Completesports.com. "But I was asked to resume work with the Kano Pillars Junior Team. I'll resume work on Monday, February 2, 2026."
Ahmed Garba, who won the 2003 CAF Champions League with Enyimba, also played professionally in Denmark with Akademisk Boldklub, netting 25 goals in 77 appearances between 2004 and 2007.
The move signals a shift in the club's approach, with 'Yaro Yaro' now tasked with nurturing the next generation of Sai Masu Gida talent rather than managing the first team.
