Warri Wolves coach Hassan Abdallah has essentially written off their Matchday 37 away fixture against Kano Pillars before it has even been played, revealing that his main focus is banking six points from two home games first and then simply accepting whatever comes from the trip to Kano.
Speaking to Completesports.com, Abdallah was candid about his club's situation. "The last three games will be tough because most of them involve teams battling for survival," he said. "But we are prepared for it. The situation is delicate, but we are focused on achieving our objective, which is to retain our NPFL status."
He laid out the plan in straightforward terms: "The only way to do this is for us to win our two home games, which will take us to 49 points. After that, whatever happens against Kano Pillars, we will accept it. However, we will still give our best in that game."
Warri Wolves are currently 16th on the table with 43 points — just three above the relegation zone. Their remaining schedule begins with a home game against Plateau United this weekend in Matchday 36, followed by the visit to Kano Pillars in Matchday 37, and then a final-day home fixture against Abia Warriors at their Ozoro transit ground.
For Kano Pillars fans, this matchup carries its own significance. Sai Masu Gida head into the final stretch of the season with a home win over Rivers United already in their back pocket from Matchday 35, and they will want to make Abdallah regret treating the Kano trip as a bonus rather than a priority.
