The Kano Pillars squad has been handed a financial incentive of N1.4 million following their 1-0 home win against Remo Stars on Matchday 25.
Lius Dadong scored the only goal of the match at the Sani Abacha Stadium last Sunday, delivering three vital points for Mohammed Babaganaru's side in their battle to move up the table.
The cash prize was presented by Kabiru Dahiru Sule, Chairman of the Kano State House Committee on Sports, who emphasised the government's determination to return the club to its winning ways.
"We want Kano Pillars to return to where it belongs. We have lived too long on past glory, and now is the time to rebuild and rebrand the club to a higher level," Sule told the team during the presentation.
The bonus comes at a critical moment for Pillars, who remain in 17th position on the NPFL table with 28 points. The four-time champions are only a single point clear of Kwara United, who sit 18th with 27 points.
