Kano Pillars midfielder Rabiu Ali has publicly committed to giving more in the 2026-27 Nigeria Premier Football League season, calling on supporters to trust that the team will raise its level.
Ali made his feelings known through a post on his Facebook page, expressing deep personal attachment to the club and the state it represents. "Kano State is our state and our pride, Kano Pillars is our team and our pride. Just as blood flows through our bodies, so does love for Kano Pillars flow through us," he wrote.
The midfielder went further to spell out what fans can expect when the new campaign begins. "As long as we are alive by God's will, this season we will double our efforts to bring joy to our brothers and sisters, the people of Kano State, that's pure Sai Masu Gida spirit," Ali added.
His words carry weight given how the last season ended. Kano Pillars survived relegation only on the final matchday — a painful reminder of how close things came. Ali's goal against Warri Wolves in MD37, which secured a crucial home win, was exactly the kind of contribution fans will be hoping to see more of next term.
The club is currently going through a period of change, with a new management team recently put in place. That transition, combined with Ali's public pledge, suggests Kano Pillars are serious about turning a corner heading into the new season.
