Kano Pillars have started preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season, with the squad reporting for pre-season training at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata on Monday morning.

Chief coach Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro took charge of the session, supported by assistant coach Gambo Muhammad and goalkeepers' trainer Suleiman Shuaibu. The club's newly appointed technical adviser, Daniel Ogunmodede, has not yet joined the group but is expected in Kano this week.

After a season in which the club fought to hold on to their top-flight status, the ambition heading into the new campaign is significantly higher. Kano Pillars are setting their sights on a top-three finish in 2026/27.

The new NPFL season is scheduled to kick off on Friday, 28 August 2026, giving the squad several weeks to get their preparations right before competitive action begins.
