Kano Pillars goalkeeper Destiny Abuchi has declared that the club will travel to Jos with nothing less than victory on their minds, ahead of their Matchday 38 fixture against Plateau United at the New Jos Stadium.
The stakes could not be higher for Sai Masu Gida. Kano Pillars need at least a draw to secure their top-flight survival, making this one of the most important away trips of their season.
Abuchi was honest about the difficulty of the task, but made his team's intentions clear. "I know the match won't be easy but we are Pillars, and we are coming for the three points," he told Inside Plateau Sports. "We deserve a win or a draw in the game."
The goalkeeper also gave credit to their hosts, acknowledging that Plateau United are not a side to be taken lightly. "We are playing against a very good side and I am hopeful that we will scale through in the game," Abuchi added.
For Pillars fans, this fixture comes on the back of a difficult run of away results — the team have lost their last three matches on the road, including a 1-2 defeat to Kun Khalifat FC and a 0-1 loss to Plateau United themselves in this very fixture. Holding their nerve in Jos will be the challenge.
